Welcome to the Islamic Center Gazi Husrev-beg (ICGHB), the spiritual and cultural home for the Bosnian-American community in Detroit, Michigan. We are a dynamic, inclusive, and legally established non-profit organization dedicated to fostering faith, heritage, and community unity.
While our new building expansion is currently taking shape, our roots run deep. Our congregation has been proudly established since 2001. For over two decades, ICGHB has served as a sanctuary of prayer, gathering, and support for generations of Bosnians in the Metro Detroit area. This mosque is not just built of steel and brick; it is the culmination of years of fundraising, dedication, and the shared dream of leaving a lasting legacy for our children.
We take our responsibility to our congregation and donors seriously. Your trust is the foundation of our success.
IRS 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Status: ICGHB is officially recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization by the IRS. Your donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
A New Chapter of Governance: In February 2026, our membership elected a new Board of Directors to lead the final phase of construction. Operating with full transparency and a legally executed handover, the new Board is passionately driving our project to the finish line.
With the external shell complete and the roof secured, we are now entering the final "interior" phase of our major expansion. We are building more than a prayer space—we are building a cultural center, a place for our youth, and a hub for our community. We invite you to be part of history and help us finish this beautiful sanctuary.
